Two booked for uploading obscene pictures on Facebook

The police have registered a case against a rape accused Ranjeet Singh and his brother, Kulwinder Singh of Naura village for threatening a rape victim to withdraw case otherwise they would make her obscene pictures public.

The police have registered a case against a rape accused Ranjeet Singh and his brother, Kulwinder Singh of Naura village for threatening a rape victim to withdraw case otherwise they would make her obscene pictures public.

In a complaint to Sadar police, 20 years old rape victim said that Ranjeet Singh who was already declared proclaimed offender into a rape case registered against him on August 14, 2011 on her complaint, has been giving threats through his family members for withdrawing the case. She said that on June 6, Kulwinder Singh, brother of accused came to her house and threatened that they had uploaded her obscene pictures on facebook and they would publicize it if she does not withdraw complaint.

A case under sections 294 (singing, reciting or uttering any obscene song, ballad or words, in or near any public place), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), 120(B)(Punishment of criminal conspiracy) of IPC and 66E, 67A and 67 B of Information and Technology Act 2000 has been registered against both brothers on Thursday.
