Two cases of loot reported in city

Two incidents of loot reported in the city on Sunday evening have blasted the local police that have failed to provide safety to the city residents.

In one of the incident, Rs 10 lakh was looted from worker of a liquor contractor and in another incident, Rs 12,000 were snatched from a gas agency worker.

Both incidents have brought the situation of law and order to the forefront. In the first case, six motorbike-borne persons stopped vehicle of Dalbir Singh, when he was on his way from Jeevan Nagar to Shimlapuri, and looted Rs 10 lakh that he had collected from liquor vends.

The incident took place at Pakhowal road. Onlookers called the police and the victim was admitted to civil hospital.

In another incident on the Pakhowal road, unidentified people looted Rs 12,000 by stabbing the gas agency worker. The worker is under treatment.

Police commissioner Pramod Ban said the police was investigating both case.
