Two dead, 2 injured in separate accidents

One person was killed in a collison between a truck and a canter in Abohar, around 90 km from here, on Monday night. The victim Rajpal was driver of the canter and died on the spot. In the second incident in Abohar around the same time, a man was killed and his son and nephew injured when the car they were travelling in hit a bridge railing.

Police said that Rajpal alias Raju of Burjmohar was returning to his village from Karniwala village, but as he reached Alamgarh bypass crossing, his canter rammed a truck coming from the opposite direction.

The collision was so severe that the canter was totally damaged. Rajpal's body was extricated with great difficulty. The truck driver managed to flee and was booked. The body was handed over to the family after post mortem.

In the second mishap, Gurpreet Singh of Patrianwali village along with his son and nephew was going to attend a marriage party when their car hit a bridge railign at Chudiwala Dhanna. All three were injured. Gurpreet later succumbed to his injuries. The other two were stated to be out of danger.
