Two factions of BJP clash in Hoshiarpur village

On the eve of zila parishad and panchayati polls, two factions of the BJP clashed in Satial village.

On the eve of zila parishad and panchayati polls, two factions of the BJP clashed in Satial village.

Members of both the the parties have been admitted to the civil hospital with injuries. No case has been registered so far.

Village sarpanch Manjit Kaur's husband Baljinder Singh alleged that he was attacked by a group of 5-6 men, armed with rods, Friday late night. He claimed that the accused kicked his turban and pulled his hair.

The assailants were BJP workers and they attacked me as they perceive me to be close particular leader, he claimed.

He claimed to have recognized the three assailants all members of the BJP. One of the said accused Rinku got himself admitted to the hospital and has accused Baljinder of engineering an attack on him.

Sadar SHO Lakhvir Singh said that the police had received a complaint from Rinku, but were yet to record the statement of Baljinder.
