Two govt officials held for graft

The sleuths of state vigilance bureau on Friday caught two government officials red-handed while taking bribe.


An assistant foreman of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Babain, in Kurukshetra district, Som Nath, was caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 7,000 from Niranjan Singh, a Kurukshetra resident in lieu of installing an electric meter.

A spokesman of the bureau said on Friday that in another case, the bureau caught Kuldeep Singh, clerk posted at the employment office, Hansi, Hisar district red-handed while accepting Rs 3,000 as bribe from one Rajesh Kumar of Krishna Colony, Hansi, in lieu of getting renewal registration for employment of his wife.

He said separate cases have been registered against the two and further investigations were on.
