Two groups open fire; no casualties reported

Tension prevailed in the city following an incident of firing between two groups of unidentified people on the Ajnala Road side, near Ranjit Avenue, on Monday. The incident took place at around 1pm and the cross-firing continued for a few minutes. However, no casualties or injuries were reported. No case has been registered so far.

Tension prevailed in the city following an incident of firing between two groups of unidentified people on the Ajnala Road side, near Ranjit Avenue, on Monday. The incident took place at around 1pm and the cross-firing continued for a few minutes. However, no casualties or injuries were reported. No case has been registered so far.

Meanwhile, hours after the incident the cops were clueless about the identity of those involved in the incident or the reason that led to the firing. "No casualty, injury or damage of any sort has been reported in the incident. Efforts are being made to identify the accused and find out the reason that led to the firing," Inspector Vavinder Kumar, SHO, Civil Lines police station, said.
