Two held with heroin worth Rs 1.50 lakh in Moga

The district police, on Monday, arrested two notorious smugglers in separate cases during a special drive and seized 50gm heroin worth Rs 1.50 lakh from them. Avtar Singh, station house officer (SHO) of Baghapurana police station, said that a special police party, headed by assistant sub- inspector Roop Chand, while patrolling near Jai Singh Wala village, nabbed Rohit Kumar, a resident of Baghapurana, and seized 30gm heroin from his possession.

In another raid, the police arrested Dimpal Kumar, a resident of Mari Mustfa village with 20gm heroin. Both were going to sell the drug to customers in nearby villages, said the SHO. He said that the police have registered cases against Rohit Kumar and Dimpal Kumar under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
