Two IPS officers promoted as DGP

The Haryana government has promoted two IPS officers with immediate effect. An official release said on Saturday that Yash Pal Singal and Mohinder Lal, both 1983-batch IPS officers, were promoted from the rank of additional director general of police as director general of police.


While Singal was posted as director general of police (prisons), in the rank of additional director general of prisons, Haryana, Lal was posted as director, vigilance and security, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam, Panchkula. They were now promoted as DGP in their respective departments.

Earlier, Singal had also served as superintendent of police (SP) of several districts and inspector general (IG) of police, Hisar range. He had also served as staff officer to the director general of police and director general of police, CID, Haryana.

He also remained chief of the intelligence in the state for about a year. He was recipient of police medal for meritorious service and President's police medal for distinguished service.

Lal had been commissioner of police, Gurgaon, and IG of different ranges and also SP in several districts, the release said.
