Two youths from Bhangu village in the district were killed when their motorcycle collided with an unidentified vehicle on Dabwali national highway in Sirsa late Sunday night, the police said.

The incident occurred when the duo was returning home after work and unidentified vehicle hit their motorcycle near Hanuman Mandir. The victims have been identified as Surender Kumar (23), who was driving the motorcycle, and Sukhwinder (21), who was riding pillion.

Surender died on the spot while Sukhwinder was rushed to a hospital by the passers-by where he breathed his last, the police said. None of them was wearing helmet.

Surender is survived by his eight-month-old daughter and wife, while Sukhwinder's marriage was fixed in February next year.

Pardeep Kumar, in-charge Sadar police station, said a case of negligent driving has been registered against the unidentified driver and they have launched a search for the vehicle.
