Two medicos killed in road mishap in Ambala

The accident took place around 1:30 am. Abhimanyu Singh, 24, an intern doctor at Maharishi Markandeshwar Institute of Medical Science and Research, Mullana, was going along with Akash Sharda, 24, who was a final year MBBS student at the same institute, from Mullana to Barara in Ambala when their Volkswagen car met with an accident.

The two were killed after their car hit a roadside tree.

Two students were killed in an accident at Ambala on Tuesday.

The accident took place around 1:30 am. Abhimanyu Singh, 24, an intern doctor at Maharishi Markandeshwar Institute of Medical Science and Research, Mullana, was going along with Akash Sharda, 24, who was a final year MBBS student at the same institute, from Mullana to Barara in Ambala when their Volkswagen car met with an accident.

According to the police, their car first collided with another unidentified car and then hit a roadside tree.

Singh was from Sikar, Rajasthan, while Sharda was from Ludhiana.

According to Dr OP Aggarwala, head of forensic medicine at Mullana institute, Singh had a head injury and had died on the spot. “Sharda had multiple injuries and he died after two hours of the accident,” he said.

The bodies have been handed over to family members. “Singh was the only son of his parents. His father Umesh Mohan is a professor in a government college,” said Dr Aggarwal.

The police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving and causing death by negligence against unknown car driver at Mullana police station.
