Two men commit suicide in Moga

A 25-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at a medical store at Nihal Singh Wala near here on Tuesday. Balour Singh hailed from Bhadaur village in Barnala district.

A 25-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at a medical store at Nihal Singh Wala near here on Tuesday.


Balour Singh hailed from Bhadaur village in Barnala district.

ASI Jasvir Singh of Nihal Singh Wala police station said Balour had been working at the medical store for three years. "The store owner informed us that when he arrived at the store, he found Balour hanging from the fan," the ASI added.

After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family.

A case has been registered under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).

Meanwhile, Piara Singh, 45, of Mahala Kalan village allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of the office of a brick industry at Balour village in this district on Tuesday morning.

Baghapurana DSP Satnam Singh said Piara had been working as an accountant at the Agarwal brick company for the past 10 years.

"When the labourers reported for work on Tuesday morning, they saw the body hanging from the ceiling. They informed the police. On the statement of deceased's wife Veerpal Kaur, a case has been registered under section 174 of the CrPC. We are waiting for the report of the post-mortem that was conducted at the civil hospital," he added.
