A day after Punjabi singer Nachattar Gill was arrested for allegedly raping an aspiring model by promising her a break in modelling, two other accused in the case were arrested on Wednesday night.
Charanjit Singh Channi, a property dealer, and his accomplice Jagdeep Sohi were produced before a court on Thursday and remanded in two-day police custody.
They had been at large since Gill's arrest on Tuesday. Channi and Sohi were arrested from Hambran Road. The fourth accused, Raja, is still at large.
Channi, who was already known to the victim's family, had allegedly told her family that he was politically influential and taken Rs 20 lakh for helping her settle abroad. The victim had come in contact with Channi after she was allegedly duped by Gill. However, Channi, Sohi and Raja allegedly raped the victim and made a lewd video of hers.
PAU police station had registered a case against the four men in June this year.
A source said the police were in possession of the video clip and would produce it in court. Police commissioner Nirmal Singh Dhillon said they would arrest Raja soon.
