Two teenage inmates of the Nari Niketan, aged 13 and 16, escaped from the protection home on Friday morning by scaling the compound wall.
They were however traced by the police within hours of their escape.
An official spokesperson of the district police said that after escaping from the home, they went to the civil lines. They were spotted by the police personnel there and handed over to the cops at the Civil Lines police station.
A Nari Niketan attendant has been booked by the police for negligence.
The protection home is not new controversies and there have been several cases of inmates escaping have been reported in the past as well.
