Two Patiala cops promoted for cracking child kidnapping case

Hailing the Patiala police for solving the kidnapping of 6-year-old Hartejbir Buttar, director general of police (DGP) Suresh Arora on Friday promoted sub-inspector Davinder Parkash as inspector and constable Surinder Singh as head constable.

Apart from it, inspectors Bikramjeet Singh Brar, Jaswinder Singh Tiwana and Shaminder Singh, sub-inspector Gurmel Singh and head constables Karamjeet Singh and Sukhwinder Singh have been granted commendation disks while 24 others have got certificates for their concerted efforts in the case.

The police team had rescued the child from a religious dera in Sangrur district and arrested the labourers who had kidnapped him from in front of his house on October 24.
