Two residents release books at Punjabi Bhawan

Two poets from the region Darshan Darvesh and Satish Thukral 'Soni' released their latest works at Punjabi Bhawan on Sunday.

Darvesh, who hails from Chandigarh, is an associate film director in Punjabi cinema by profession. He released 'Kudiyaan nu swaal na karo', a compilation of his poetic works that touch various facets of life. The book is published by Tasvir Publications from Haryana.

Dr Thukral, a practicing doctor in Ferozepur, released a compilation of his ghazals titled 'Jheel Vichla Samundar'. While, he has earlier released two poetic works, the latest work marks his debut in ghazals. The book has been published by Lokgeet Publishers Chandigarh.

The well-attended event began at 1 pm. Jalandhar-based Hindi poet Mohan Sapra, professor Atara Singh, Darshan Aulakh and Gurbhajan Singh Gill (president of Punjabi Sahit Academi) graced the occasion as chief guests.
