Two shopkeepers assaulted in road rage case in Chandigarh

In a road rage incident, two shopkeepers — Manoj Kumar (32), a Sector 22 resident and Gagan Kumar (35), a Sector 41 resident — were assaulted with rods, sticks and sharp weapons by some unidentified youths in a white Ford Endeavour.

The shopkeepers returning home after having dinner Sunday late night.

The incident took place at 1am when Manoj and Gagan along with their friends Gaurav and Ashu were passing through Sector 22. The victims’ Activa ran out of fuel near the dispensary. Four youths in a Ford Endeavour offered them a lift which eventually turned into a heated argument between them. The police said that the youths in the Endeavour pulled out sticks, rods and attacked them. The victims called police and they were taken to GMSH, Sector 16 but the accused managed to flee from the spot.

The police managed to note down the registration number of the Endeavour. The police registered a case against the unidentified youths.
