The UK-based couple Joginder Kaur and her husband Surinderjeet Singh have rubbished their relative Harpreet Kaur's claims of getting her a fake visa for Britain in lieu of Rs7.16 lakh.

The couple maintained that the money was borrowed by her while she was working in their company during her stay in the UK. Harpreet Kaur of Kala Goraya village under Ghumman Kalan police station in Gurdaspur district had told Hindustan Times on May 31 that the couple had taken 4,672 pounds from her in the UK on January 26, 2012, while she had given another Rs 3.36 lakh to their local contact Dr Gurdev Singh Randhawa in Batala on February 16, 2012.

On the other hand, the couple claimed that Harpreet had evil intentions of extracting money from them by levelling false charges.

In a statement sent by email on Monday, the duo claimed that Harpreet had already complained against them to the SSPs of Gurdaspur and Batala and DSP of Dera Baba Nanak, but all of them had dropped charges against them after conducting thorough probes.
