Under stress mother-daughter duo commit suicide

An under stress mother-daughter duo committed suicide by jumping into canal near Teona village on Tuesday.

The bodies of victims Manjit Kaur, 62, and Gurdip Kaur, 28 residents of Chughe Khurd village were recovered on Tuesday afternoon. SHO, Nandgarh police station, Bhupinder Singh said that both were undergoing stress as the daughter had gone visually impaired.

Gurparkash Singh brother of victim Gurdip in police statement said that his sister who was good at studies and is standard 12 pass had started developing eyesight problem few years back and despite providing best possible treatment she became completely visually impaired which had pushed both his mother and sister into stress.

"On Tuesday morning both came out of house early in the morning and jumped into Canal. Family searched for them and found their sleepers near Canal indicating that they might have taken extreme step. Bodies of both were recovered at about 4 pm after which have been handed over to family," said SHO.
