An undertrial died under mysterious circumstances in Ludhiana central Jail on Tuesday. After conducting postmortem under the supervision of executive magistrate, the dead body was handed over to the kin. The cause of death has been kept pending.

The jail authorities have been claiming that the undertrial was ill, while the kin suspect it was murder.
The deceased has been identified as Deepak Kumar, (50). He was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, immoral trafficking act and several other cases. He was brought to Ludhiana central jail on October 30, 2013.
