Undertrial who gave cop theslip lands back in police net
Nine days after an undertrial escaped after pushing away a cop at the district court complex, he was arrested by Doraha police on Wednesday. The accused, Lakhwinder Singh alias Lakha, was lodged in Ludhiana Central Jail since 2010 after being booked for drug peddling under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The accused, Lakhwinder Singh alias Lakha, was lodged in Ludhiana Central Jail since 2010 after being booked for drug peddling under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Lakha was brought to districts courts for hearing of a case on November 18. However, after being produced before the court, he pushed the constable accompanying him and fled the spot.
A search team was formed by Division Number 5 station house officer (SHO), and Lakha was arrested from Doraha bus stand following a tip-off.
Dharampal, SHO, Division Number 5, said after escaping from police custody, Lakha went to Gurdwara Talhi Sahib in Raikot and then moved towards delhi.
On Wednesday, he was on his way back to Ludhiana when police arrested him from Doraha bus stand, he added.
