Undertrial who gave police the slip nabbed from Delhi
An undertrial facing fraud and drug peddling cases that had fled after outsmarting cops in court complex in October last has been arrested from Delhi. The accused, Inderjeet Singh of Dhuri of Sangrur, was living in a rented accommodation in Delhi.

The Division Number 5 police arrested him following a tip-off on late Wednesday night.
Singh was brought to the court complex on October 21 last for hearing. But while coming out from the court, he had fled after outsmarting the cops. His wife Ruby had helped him in escaping by diverting the attention of the cops.
The Division Number 5 police had registered a case under sections 223(escape from confinement or custody negligently suffered by public servant) and 224 (resistance or obstruction by a person to his lawful apprehension) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Inderjeet and Ruby. The police had also booked head constable Kuljeet Singh for negligence and arrested him on the same day.
Inspector Dharampal, station house officer (SHO) at Division Number 5 police station, said the police were conducting raids for the arrest of the accused since he absconded.
He said Singh was facing trial in two cases of fraud registered at Salem Tabri police station and Bareta police station of Mansa, besides a case of drug peddling registered at Dhuri City police station of Sangrur.
He was lodged in Sangrur jail, and Salem Tabri police had brought him on production warrant from Sangrur jail for questioning when he escaped.
