Unidentified people booked under cow slaughter Act

The police have booked some unidentified people under the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act after a cow and an oxen were found dead in a truck.

On a complaint by Amrik Singh, a resident of Swatch village, the police have booked the unidentified driver of a tempo (RJ 13 G 3050) and his associates.

The complainant alleged that he, along with panchayat member Harmail Singh, after having received information in this regard, stopped a truck and found two cows and eight oxen loaded in the tempo of which one cow and an oxen were found dead.

The truck driver and others ran away leaving behind the truck which was handed over to the police.
