Varsity to dedicate Charan Singh birth anniversary to farmers

Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University will mark the birth anniversary of former prime minister late Chaudhary Charan Singh by educating farmers as part of Kisan Diwas celebrations on Tuesday (December 23).

Haryana governor Kaptan Singh Solanki will inaugurate the function as chief guest. State agriculture minister Om Prakash Dhankar will preside over, while Tohana legislator and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Subhash Barala will be guest of honour.

Vice-chancellor KS Khokhar said here on Friday that in a programme on the occasion, farmers would be educated about agriculture, livestock and home science practices and technologies. Scientists will interact with farmers about the problems.

New agricultural and veterinary technologies developed by the university will be on display. Besides, progressive farmers from different districts will be felicitated.
