Davinder Kaur, mother of the acid attack victim Harpreet Kaur has demanded death sentence for the accused involved in the case.

"For the past six days her health was sinking. She had stopped communication and finally died a painful death. I used to see her from the window. On Friday morning, the doctor told me that she had given up," Kaur said.

The family regrets that Harpreet's would be in-laws neither contacted them after the incident nor did they express regret. "My daughter lost her life due to their internal rivalry; at least they should have some courtesy," she rued.

She said they had deposited Rs 5 lakh with the hospital in advance with the help of Ludhiana police. A bill of Rs 6 lakh was pending of with the Ludhiana police had transferred Rs 2 lakh more on Thursday evening and had promised to transfer more in the coming days.
