On the morning of July 17, Pappu's son and block samiti member, Deep Kumar along with two dozen armed persons attacked him. The miscreants allegedly torn him clothes and assaulted him in the open market so badly that he went unconscious, alleged Amritpal.

Due to the strong political background of the leader, the Kathunangal police denied to registered his complaint and next day, he was astonished to know that the police had registered a case under section 326 against him.

Today protesting against the alleged gangism of Rajinder Kumar, the victim along with his family members and residents of the adjoining villages jammed the highway at Jaintipur and demanded that Rajinder Kumar alias Pappu Jaintipuria must be panelised for his illegal activates, registration of case under the disrespect of Sikh symbols and hairs, cancellation of arms licenses upon which his gang rules and termination of Rajinder Kumar alias Pappu Jaintipuria from the SAD membership.

Getting information about the protest and use of some derogatory words by the protesters, the supporters of Pappu armed with fire weapons and shap edged weapons reached the spot and challenged the protesters.

Seeing the increasing confrontation between both the groups, the police team headed by SSP, Majitha rushed to the spot and dispersed both the groups but Amritpal along with his family denied to lift the dharna.

It was only SSP, Majitha, Manmohan Singh assured Amritpal Singh that action will be taken against Rajinder Singh, the protesters lifted the dharna and traffic was restarted on the highway.

Refuting all allegations, Rajinder Kumar, denied of his involvement in any such incident and told that he was not present in India on July 17. Blaiming Akali leader and son of former Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Ravi Karan Kahlon, Pappu blaimed that only to spoil for political image, Kahlon was using cheap tactics but the entire village of Jaintipur was supporting him and when Amritpal and his supporters used some derogatory words against him and his community and the entire village closed down their shops and challenged the increasing advances of outsiders.

When contacted SSP, Majitha, Manmohan Singh, he told that he was busy in a meeting.
