Rakhra's sympathies are with the people living around the plant's site.
"The entire solid waste to be processed will have to be transported via the road cutting though their villages," the minister said on Monday in response to the allegation of blocking the project. "The lease amount of Rs 20,000 per acre to the farmers is also inadequate. I have searched for another site for the project. It's on one of the banks of the Sirhind Canal," said Rakhra.
