Villagers thank Hooda khap for fighting for clemency to murder accused

A day after Haryana cabinet made a second reference to governor for granting clemency to four murder accused of Kansala village of Rohtak district, natives of this village expressed their thanks to Hooda khap for fighting their case.

A day after Haryana cabinet made a second reference to governor for granting clemency to four murder accused of Kansala village of Rohtak district, natives of this village expressed their thanks to Hooda khap for fighting their case.


Rambir, Vinod "Lakhmi", Satpal, and Rajiv, all from Kansala village that falls under Garhi-Samlao-Kiloi assembly constituency being represented by the chief minister, were convicted for murder and other offences. A case of murder, attempt to murder, arms rioting was registered against them at Sampla police station in 2001.

Lauding the Hooda khap in taking their village fight forward, Pallay Ram Khokkhar, 60, a resident of this village, said, "After we approached the Hooda khap, it conducted a panchayat of 84 villages for sorting out matter amicably."

Chain Sukh, 76, said, "If the state government has passed a second reference, it should be welcomed wholeheartedly. Now, the two families can live in peace."

Tara Singh Khokkhar, another elderly from village said that mahapanchayat had met the chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda thrice in this matter, who assured them to take up the issue at the appropriate level. Kansala village is dominated by Jats and has over 5,000 votes.
