Villages with toilet in every house to get Rs 1 lakh, says Haryana Minister

Haryana agriculture minister OP Dhankar has announced a cash award of Rs 1 lakh for villages having a toilet in every household.

Dhankar, who was addressing a gathering during a function organised under the Swachh Bharat Mission in Jhajjar on Sunday, said the state government would also conduct a survey to review the construction of toilets in villages and cash award would be given to villages having a toilet in every household. He urged the people for their contribution in the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Earlier, during an interaction with the farmers at Luhari village of the district, Dhankar advised them to adopt floriculture to enhance their income. He said that the state government was giving subsidies to the farmers adopting horticulture and floriculture. He said that the government was also setting up a Centre of Excellence for horticulture in the district and farmers of the region should take benefits of the latest technologies to adopt crop diversification.
