After their gruelling campaign schedules, the three main contestants from Gurdaspur constituency--Partap Singh Bajwa (Congress), Vinod Khanna (BJP) and Sucha Singh Chhotepur (AAP)-returned to their routine life on Thursday, a day after the polling.
Vinod Khanna flew back with his family to Mumbai where he will resume the shooting of an incomplete film as he had informed the media persons a couple of days ago. Partap Singh Bajwa on Thursday moved to the Congress Bhawan in Chandigarh to attend to his duty as Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president.
Sucha Singh Chhotepur spent the day at his home in Chhotepur village near Dhariwal, 15 km from here, meeting his supporters from morning to evening.
He expressed his gratitude to the supporters and satisfaction over his party's performance in the elections.
Asked if he had any complaint against his two main opponents, Chhotepur said that though his rivals used their political influence, money and liquor in the election, he was pleased that he was able to get the maximum support of the common people.
He added that he would be thankful to God as well as the people, whatever the result of the election would be.
