Gurdaspur MP Vinod Khanna has received the maximum amount as travelling and daily allowances from the Lok Sabha among Punjab MPs.
According to information obtained by Right to Information (RTI) activist advocate Dinesh Chadha from the Lok Sabha secretariat, Khanna had received Rs 14.2 lakh as travelling and daily allowances during the period June 2014 to June 2015.
Shiromani Akali Dal MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura got Rs 7.4 lakh during this period, followed by Prem Singh Singh Chandumajra who received Rs 7.2 lakh, Harinder Singh Khalsa who got Rs 6.8 lakh, Ravneet Singh Bittu who received Rs 6.4 lakh, Sher Singh Ghubaya who got Rs 6.1 lakh, Vijay Sampla who got Rs 5.1 lakh, Bhagwant Mann who received Rs 4 lakh, Chaudhary Santokh Singh who got Rs 3.6 lakh, Dr Dharamvira Gandhi who received Rs 3.4 lakh, and Prof Sadhu Singh who received Rs 2.7 lakh as travelling and daily allowances.
Capt Amarinder Singh had received Rs 1.2 lakh as travelling and daily allowances while Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal did not receive any such allowance.
Khanna got the maximum amount of Rs 3.9 lakh as travelling and daily allowances during a single month in May 2015, followed by AAP MP Harinder Singh Khalsa who received Rs 3.1 lakh for October 2014.
