A cavalcade of an unidentified "VIP" caused accident at the Bharat Nagar Chowk in the city on Wednesday. The cavalcade moved at such a speed that the general public did not see the person inside.

On one hand where an eyewitness claimed that the car belonged to a top leader of SAD, the police was tight lipped about the incident. The eyewitness who do not want to reveal his identity said that the cavalcade of the VIP came from the wrong side and the police officials stationed at the point stopped the flow of traffic by coming in front of the general vehicles.

"It was a green signal but the policemen had stopped the flow for us because the vehicle of the VIP was coming from the wrong side" the eyewitness said.

He said that suddenly a speeding BMW car came from behind and rammed into another car as "the driver of the BMW thought that the signal was green and cars would move" when he reaches the crossing" he said.

The incident took place at around 9.30 in morning when there is a heavy rush of vehicles on roads in the city as this was office timing for most of the people.

On the other hand the police was tight lipped about the incident and was acting ignorant about the issue.
