Ruling out vendetta politics against Akalis, chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh said on Thursday he wanted an end to the era of confrontation as his priority was development of Punjab.
Unlike the erstwhile SAD-BJP government, which he said stopped all projects initiated during the Congress rule, his government will continue to support all ongoing projects for welfare of people, said Capt.
Capt, however, reiterated his government’s resolve to review all decisions taken by the previous government in its last six months and to set up a commission to probe all false cases registered by Akalis against innocent people. Ruling out setting up of a commission to investigate corruption cases, he said inquiry will be instituted on any complaint received by his government in this regard.
WELCOMES PM’S MOVE ON DEBT WAIVER
Reiterating his commitment to farm loan waiver, Amarinder welcomed reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had instructed the Niti Aayog to make an assessment and formulate a plan for debt waiver.
