SAD nominee from Jalandhar (reserved) Lok Sabha seat and chief parliamentary secretary (CPS) Pawan Kumar Tinu has reacted strongly to the allegations levelled by singer and local SAD leader Hans Raj Hans, who has termed Tinu a “fanatic leader, who always remains a threat to society”.
“By levelling such charges against me, Hans has again shown his real face. No other act can be cheaper than this. He has attacked me when I am in the US to perform the last rites of my father. It is highly condemnable,” Tinu said while speaking to Hindustan Times on phone from the US.
Tinu also ter med Hans a “blackmailer of the highest order and coward leader”.
“I was allotted party ticket on February 18. People can well gauze his motive behind raking up the issue of my candidature after a month. That, too, when I am not in India,” Tinu said.
The CPS, who is MLA from Adampur, said the party has given him ticket after thorough analysis of his credentials. “If Hans has guts, he should oppose my candidature before SAD chief Sukbhir Badal, who has allotted me the ticket. By levelling baseless allegations against me, he is just trying to blackmail the party high command to get some benefit,” said Tinu.
Tinu also condemned Hans’ terming him a “fanatic” leader. “I am not sure if Hans knows the meaning of fanatic. He is being taught by a few of my opponents. I have always had the highest regard for all communities.”
Meanwhile, Hans has kept his options open, stating that he would go by the feeling of his fans and followers. “Even on Wednesday, hundreds of my supporters urged me to revolt against Tinu. But I stopped them because I am not like Tinu, who will change party frequently.”
