Watchman killed in Sirsa

punjab Updated: Apr 07, 2015 18:49 IST

A 45 year-old watchman, deployed in a government school at village Kamal in Sirsa district, was allegedly killed by two youths of the same village on Monday night.

Deceased Gurjant Singh's wife Amarjeet Kaur alleged that on Saturday night, accused Kuldeep Singh (27) and Roopi (25) reached the school and asked Gurjant to open the gym. Gurjant declined to open the gym, saying it was late night and he had no authority to open it at that time. After a verbal spat with Gurjant, both the youths started beating him up with the sticks, she added.

She claimed that a badly injured Gurjant reached home thereafter and he fell on the floor. When they took him to the doctor, he was declared dead.

Anil Kumar, incharge of Kalanwali police station, said, they have lodged an FIR against Kuldeep Singh and Roopi on the complaint of Amarjeet Kaur. Police were on the lookout for the accused, he added.
