A resident of Jhanjhian village, under Fatehgarh Churrian, was reportedly gangraped by four persons at Dadujodh village on Saturday. Victim told police that after death of her husband, she was working at a private factory on Amritsar Road.

On Saturday evening, she was going back home when she was offered lift by her neighbourer. “But instead of taking me to our village, he took me to an isolated resthouse, where three other persons were also present. They forcibly took me inside and raped me”, she added.

The accused threatened her of dire consequences if she reported the incident to anyone. After conducting medical test, police have registered a case under Section 376D (gangrape) and 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the four accused, who are absconding.
