The Tanda police have arrested a Miani resident in connection with the murder of her husband, who was found hanging from the ceiling in their house on Sunday. The police are also looking for her alleged paramour.

The incident came to when a neighbour went to the 42-year-old Jaimal Singh's house to give him tea as his wife and children had gone to her parents home. The deceased's mother Vidya Kaur was also not in town. Jaimal Singh's body was hanging from the ceiling and his hands were tied behind with a nylon string. On receiving information, a police party led by Tanda station house officer Satinder Chadha reached the spot and took the body in custody.

On the complaint of deceased's mother, a case under Section 302 (murder) and 34 (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against his wife Parminderjit Kaur and Balra village resident Lally.

The complainant alleged that her daughter-in-law was in to an illicit relation with Lally and both conspired to kill her son. Jaimal Singh ran a photography shop in the village.
