Further sharpening attack on the SAD-BJP combine, former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh said the defeat of BJP candidate Arun Jaitley would cause a big embarrassment to Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia and the Akali Dal.
Majithia had attacked Captain Amarinder on Monday by saying that this election would be the last election of Amarinder, as he would ensure a crushing defeat of the Congress in Amritsar.
When questioned about the Majithia’s claim, Captain said: “Why do you listen to a fool….I will show him who the real boss in politics is. People of Majha are waiting for me to teach him a lesson. The misrule and hooliganism of Majithia and his gang will ensure the defeat of Jaitley, as the public is upset with criminal and arm-twisting activities of the Akali leader of Majha”.
He further attacked Majithia by saying that he should give the advice of the last election to CM Parkash Singh Badal, who for the last 15 years was requesting voters to vote for him on the plea that “this is my last election, please help me to win”.
“I have taken my sword out and I will rest only after the defeat of Akalis in elections”, roared Amarinder with enthusiasm , asking workers to gear up for elections.
He said his brother Raja Malwinder Singh would join for electioneering at Amritsar, while son Raninder and daughter Jaya would work for Preneet.
On his absence from the state assembly, Amarinder said: “I do not want to go there to only see the face of Badals. I am there for debate on Punjab. They never allow debate and hold such short sessions so that only business of the House can be conducted. I have several times asked them to debate the issues of the state, but they failed to notify the session for such debates.”
