A woman has accused Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Kuldip Singh for Bathinda parliamentary constituency of sexual assault.
The woman, a resident of Paras Ram Nagar here, in a complaint to the police, has alleged that BSP leader Kuldip Singh had allured her by promising to appoint her as president of Bathinda district president of women's wing of the party.
"Last September, I had come in contact with the BSP leader, who had promised to appoint me as district president of the women's wing of party. After this, I had participated in several party rallies and meetings," she alleged.
"About three months ago, two of the friends of BSP leader Babbal and Jassi took me to Sardulgarh in Mansa district claiming that I will be appointed as district president of the women's wing at a meeting there. However, I was administered some intoxicant in tea served there after which I fell unconscious. When I gained conscious my whole body was aching and Kuldip and two of his friends were bringing me back to Bathinda in the car," she alleged.
She alleged that when she asked them that what had happened to her, she was told that her blood pressure had gone low so she had become unconscious.
"After this I kept on asking Kuldeep to appoint me on the post. But, he, instead, warned me of putting some video about me on the internet," she alleged.
SP (Detective) Swaran Singh said that an inquiry into the woman's complaint has been handed over to SHO, Canal Colony police station and he will submit a report in this regard within two-three days.
However, Kuldip Singh, when contacted, said that he doesn't even know the woman and allegations are being levelled against him to malign his image ahead of parliamentary elections.
