Days after she tried to commit suicide over alleged police inaction, a woman has now accused Youth Akali leader Meetpal Singh Dugri of molesting and harassing her.

A confidant of cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia, Dugri has been named in a case in which a tent house owner, Harvinder Singh alias Bagga, and two unidentified persons have already been booked on the complaint of the woman.

Disappointed with the alleged inaction of the police in registering a case, the woman had reportedly consumed some poisonous substance in front of Dugri police station on October 11 night.

She was admitted to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

Later, after her relatives staged a protest in front of the police station, a case was registered under sections 294 (obscene acts and songs), 354-A (sexual harassment) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the trio.

Now in her supplementary statement, the victim has also accused Dugri of molestation, harassment and involvement in the case.

Inspector Jatinderjeet Singh, station house officer (SHO) at Dugri police station, said the police had recorded the victim's statement and initiated investigation to register a case against Dugri.
