Woman, arrested for encroaching NRI’s house

The Nurmahal police have arrested Devinder Kaur, a resident of Mohalla Chaudhrian, Phillaur, on the charges of house trespass, breaking into a house, mischief and committing crime with common intention.

A UK-based NRI and native of Cheema Khurd village complained to the police that she and her mother securely locked their house in May 2013, before proceeding to England in May 2013.

When they returned back on June 26, they found the accused had broken the locks of their house with the help of accomplices and had encroached upon the house.

Investigating officer SI Harjit Singh said that a case under Sections 34 (committing crime with common intention), 427(mischief) 448 (house trespass), 454(house breaking) of the IPC had been registered against the accused and her sons, Ranjit Singh and Satnam Singh on the basisi of the inquiry and the complaint.
