Woman commits suicide, in-laws husband booked

A woman committed suicide by jumping into a river, allegedly fed up of continuous torture at the hands of her huband and in-laws. The police have registered a case against her husband and other family members at Rajpura police station.

As per the complaint filed by the father of the deaceased Kabul Singh, his daughter, identified as, was married to the accused Baljit Singh for the last three years and had no children. Her husband and in-laws started torturing her due to not having children even after three years of marriage which forced her to commit suicide.

The police registered a case against the accused husband Baljit Singh and other family members Kulbir Singh, Roop Kaur and Soni, all residents of Gurupura Mohalla, Rajpura, under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 120B (punishment for criminal conspiracy)of the Indian Penal Code.
