Woman, daughter-in-law found murdered

A woman and her daughter-in-law were murdered in their house in Bhoma village under the Ghoman police station on Friday night. The police said they were suffocated to death.

A woman and her daughter-in-law were murdered in their house in Bhoma village under the Ghoman police station on Friday night. The police said they were suffocated to death.

Lovepreet Singh, a resident of Bhoma village, lodged a complaint with the police, stating that when he returned home from his tubewell on Friday night, he found his wife Sharanpreet Kaur (23) and mother Baljit Kaur (55) lying dead. He said all the locks of an almirah containing valuables were found broken. A sum of Rs 10,000 and gold jewellery were found missing.

Lovepreet had got married to Sharanpreet three months ago.

Batala SSP Tulsi Ram, along with a police force, rushed to the spot and conducted investigations. A forensic team also examined the spot with the help of a dog squad.

A case has been registered under section 460 of the IPC.
