Following the death of a 26-year-old woman at a private hospital after delivery of a child, the aggrieved family alleged that the death occurred due to the negligence of the doctors.
Jaswinder Kaur was admitted to the hospital at Sector 12 here on Thursday and delivered a baby. Deceased’s husband Sanjeev Singh alleged that Jaswinder developed certain medical complications after the delivery but the negligent doctors did not give her due medical attention.
Meanwhile, the investigating officer Jai Pal said that the Singh claimed that his wife was suffering from piles and was treated for the same at the same hospital.
He said that further action would be taken on the basis of postmortem examination and opinion of the medical experts.
Chief medical officer Vandana Bhatia said that the body was sent to the PGI, Rohtak, on Friday for autopsy. “I will give my opinion to the police on the basis of the postmortem report and medical history of the deceased to establish culpability of the said hospital in mishandling the patient, if any,” she said.
