Woman, mother booked for cheating, theft

A man has lodged an FIR against his daughter-in-law and her mother for cheating and theft at the Sadar police station on Wednesday.

In his complaint, Bhalraj Singh of King Enclave stated that his son Charanpal Singh was married to Dilpreet Kaur of Kotkapura of Moga. While the former works in an IT company, his wife is a government teacher. Bhalraj Singh stated that soon after the marriage, his daughter-in-law had started harassing her husband for money.

He further alleged that on October 16, Kaur left the house saying that she was going to Kotkapura to attend a marriage function along with her mother Phooljit Kaur.

Bhalraj Singh stated that Dilpreet and Phooljit Kaur stole `80,000 and jewellery from the locker.

Inspector Jatinderjeet Singh, SHO at the Sadar police station said the police had launched a manhunt for the arrest of the accused. A case under sections 420 and 380 of IPC against the accused has been registered in this regard.
