The police claim to have arrested a woman teacher and her two brothers, who were booked for sexually abusing a 14-year-old student and made several lewd videos of him, from interstate bus terminal on Sunday.
Radha and her brothers Raghav and Madhav, residents of Sham Nagar, were trying to flee the city when the police arrested them following a tip-off.
The accused have been hiding since October 18 last year. Earlier also, the police had conducted repeated raids at New Delhi, Noida and Uttarakhand to arrest the accused but to no avail. Inspector Beant Juneja, station house officer (SHO) at the Division Number 5 police station, said the police would produce the accused before the court on Monday. He said the police had recovered laptop and pen drive from the house of the accused and they were yet to recover mobile phones and camera from the accused.
It is pertinent to mention here that on October 18 last year, the division number 5 police had registered a case against Radha, Raghav and Madhav under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 at the behest of victim’s father.
The case was registered after Bachpan Bachao Andolan, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), intervened into the case.
The activists of the NGO also reached the police station after they got to know about the arrest of the accused. They alleged that police did not allow them to enter the police station. The activists also feared that police could favour the accused as the latter had already revealed their links with police officials and politicians in a letter written to the parents of the victim.
