In connection with the mysterious deaths of a woman and her three sons, who all died in a span of six months, the police have booked the second husband of the woman. The deceased have been identified as Manjit Kaur 40, and her three sons Gagandeep Singh, Satnam Singh and Gurpreet Singh, all residents of Kot Khalsa.

The Amritsar police have booked Manjit's husband Amar Singh, a resident of Railway Quarters, Kot Khalsa under sections 302/201 of the IPC at Chheharta police station on the complaint of Paramjit Kaur, a resident of Chheharta and a relative of Manjit. However, the accused is yet to be arrested.

In a complaint lodged with the police, Paramjit stated that Manjit Kaur was previously married to her brother and the couple had three sons Gagandeep Singh, Satnam Singh and Gurpreet Singh.

She said that after the death of her brother, Manjit married Amar Singh in 2003, who had given in writing that he would give all rights to her sons in matters pertaining to property. The complainant alleged that the accused, however, later started asking for a share in her brother's property.

Chheharta SHO inspector Sushil Kumar, who is investigating the matter, said that the complainant alleged that on January 11 this year, Satnam Singh, the son of Manjit Kaur, died under mysterious circumstances and three months later the body of her another son, Gurpreet Singh, was found from the gardener's house on March 15.

"The complainant has alleged that Manjit Kaur died on June 27 this year. The complainant alleged that the deaths of mother and her three sons were mysterious in nature and deserved thorough investigation," he added. The SHO said investigations were on and efforts being made to arrest the accused.
