Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday evening said the state government would streamline working of tehsil offices to weed out corrupt practices.
Tehsils or revenue departments are widely considered as the most corrupt departments.
Speaking at a programme, Khattar said the upcoming system would ensure transparency where accountability of tehsildar would be fixed for completing registration or other revenue work in a set time frame.
“People will not be required to come again and again for these works as it would be the duty of the tehsil office. Applicants would be updated on the status of their applications telephonically and registration deeds would be delivered at people’s doorsteps,” he said, adding that the new system would have provision to initiate tough action against erring officials.
