Young farmers to get three-month training in integrated farming at PAU

The directorate of extension education of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will organise a three-month training course on "Integrated agriculture" for the young farmers of the state from January 1 to March 31.

Extension education director MS Gill said the young farmers from different parts of the state, except Gurdaspur and Amritsar districts, under the age group of 20 to 40, with matriculation qualification, will be eligible for this course. The PAU experts will dwell upon various aspects of agriculture in addition to subsidiary occupations during the course, he added.

Young Farmers' Training Course incharge TS Riar said the aspirants could collect the application form from the office of directorate of extension education, PAU.

"The last date for the submission of form is December 30, 2013 and the interview for the course will be held on December 31, 2013 at 10am at Kairon Kisan Ghar (KKG) of the university. The candidates should bring their matriculation as well as age proof certificates along with them during the walk-in-interview.

The selected candidate will have to deposit Rs 500 as security, which will be refunded after the completion of the course," he said. He said, "The course fee is Rs 300, whereas the accommodation charges are Rs 100 per month."
