Young Writers Association (YWA) of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organised a special evening for the freshers at the students home on Thursday.

The evening provided a platform for the freshers to express themselves through speeches, poetry, singing or dancing.

YWA president Swaranjit Singh and former president Jaspreet Singh said such evenings were organised every year by the association to welcome the new students.

They added that the students were briefed about the campus, the city, dos and don’ts, the opportunities, and several kinds of camps.

Kritika Gupta, a student, said, “We welcome the freshers not only to the campus, but also to the association. Our membership is open and free of cost.”

Gupta threw light on several credentials of the association and how getting enrolled into it could make their campus life interesting and creative.

“Such events are must and should be organised on regular basis”, said the students.
