The workers of Youth Congress staged a protest here on Friday against the alleged black-marketing of sand and gravel in the state. The protesters also raised anti government slogans.
Youth Congress incharge of the Faridkot parliamentary constituency Sukhwinder Singh Danny said the prices of sand and gravel had touched the sky because Badals had monopoly over the business. “The prices of sand and gravel should be brought down so that a poor man can think of building a house,” he said.
Addressing the gathering at the new grain market here, Danny further said the state government had failed to come to the rescue of unemployed educated youth. He alleged that the SAD-BJP government had failed to rope in industries to the state for employment generation.
"The Youth Congress workers will highlight the issues like deteriorating law and order situation, crumbling economy, drugs and crimes against women. The ruling alliance will pay for befooling people in the name of development in the next Lok Sabha elections," he said.
Danny dared the deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to make public the list of development projects undertaken by the government on its own and those being funded by the Centre.
